Summer Studio
During Summer Studio, students ages 5-15 receive one-on-one instruction while creating sculpture, drawing, and painting projects of their choosing. The majority of the day is spent making art, however we also take recess breaks in our back yard! Full day, morning, and afternoon sessions are available by the week.

FAQs
Enrollment is typically offered by the week. However, based on availability, we may be able to accommodate requests for single day or partial week enrollment. Please email us with your request!
After arriving at 9am, students will draw in their sketchbooks for about twenty minutes. After a short teacher demo, students work on their main projects for an hour. We then offer the option of a quick snack/play break before returning to main projects or beginning free projects. Students then clean up and head outside for a thirty minute recess. At noon, morning students dismiss and afternoon students arrive. We then repeat the morning schedule, with full day students eating lunch while afternoon students draw in their sketchbooks, and dismiss at 3pm.
We offer most materials to our students, including plaster sculptures, acrylic and watercolor paints, colored and graphite pencils, illustration markers, charcoals, pastels, modeling clay, and some craft materials. Students ages 5-10 will follow a loose schedule of plaster sculptures on Monday, watercolor paintings on Tuesday, craypas drawings and clay on Wednesday, acrylic paintings on Thursday, and free projects on Fridays. Students ages 10-15 can opt to follow the same schedule or choose their own projects each day. All students can always choose their own subject matter and are encouraged to incorporate their own interests and creativity into their projects!
Absolutely! Our teachers are very familiar with the various requirements and the summer is a great time for students to focus on art, receive one-on-one instruction, and get a jumpstart on the work before the school year begins.
No! Students always choose their own subject matter, so they will never make the same project twice. We do focus on a few select materials, so returning students will work in those materials multiple times, but this is actually a great thing! It allows kids to learn and grow over the summer—the more a student works with a material, the more confident and skilled they will become in the process.
We will supply all art materials, but you will need to pack any food and water for the day. Full day students need a nut-free lunch, and we recommend that all students (both full and half day) also bring a nut-free snack. We also recommend dressing your child in clothes that you don’t mind getting messy.
